Appointment of new CEO

Brussels, September 20, 2019

SIAT is pleased to announce the appointment of Xavier de Carnière as its new CEO, replacing Pierre Vandebeeck, who retired earlier this month after 28 years as CEO and Chairman.

Mr. Xavier de Carnière will take on the role of CEO of SIAT as from October 1st, 2019.

Xavier de Carnière is a dynamic and values-driven leader with substantial international business experience.

Having worked for SIAT as Group CFO from 2008 to 2014, Mr. de Carnière has a deep understanding and experience of our business, the industry, and the markets in which we operate.

Following his position as Group CFO at SIAT, Mr. de Carnière took up the CEO position at Feronia, a listed agro-industrial business with oil palm plantations, and processing and downstream operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In this role, Mr. de Carnière demonstrated a track record of delivering results in challenging circumstances. Mr. de Carnière also has experience in the African FMCG sector, having previously been Sales & Marketing Director for Promasidor, a manufacturer and distributor of quality food products. With responsibility for Ghana and Burkina Faso, he played a key role in developing a number of brands into market leaders. Mr. de Carnière is multilingual and has a Masters degree in Business and Finance from the ICHEC Management School in Brussels.

The combination of his experience, drive and culture makes him an ideal fit for SIAT’s next stages of development.  His skill sets are very well aligned with the needs of the company, now and in the future.

We are excited about the new generation at the helm of SIAT, continuing what Mr. Vandebeeck has built since the founding of SIAT in 1991.

On behalf of all SIAT employees, the Board of Directors of SIAT wishes to thank Mr. Vandebeeck for his many years of leadership, innovation and dedication to SIAT, and warmly welcomes Mr. de Carnière to the role and wishes him every success.

Thank you all for your continued support to SIAT.

The Board of Directors
